Art Gallery of Guelph
Guelph’s public art gallery, formerly called the Macdonald Stewart Art Centre, was renamed Art Gallery of Guelph in 2015 to better convey its role and prominence. My rebranding gave the gallery a fresh, crisp logo. Using Brandon Grotesque as the brand basic typestyle, I merged the lowercase a and g into one form and cast a shadow g. The resulting logo is both sculptural and pictorial — the illusion of depth on a flat plane.
I helped to coordinate the design of the sign, where the hallmark g turns from black to white at night to remain visible.
I design exhibition catalogues, banners, invitations and signage for the Art Gallery of Guelph on a regular basis.
The Art Gallery of Guelph logo was launched with an animated promotional video that I storyboarded.
