The previous logo wasn’t suitable for social media use.
Plain Language International is an non-profit network with professional members from 30 countries working in 15 languages. It is incorporated in Canada.
The organization needed to update its visual appeal and accessibility, to bring the image of the organization to a new level and to make a statement about who they are. Art Kilgour worked virtually with board members in the U.S. (the organization has no paid staff) to come up with five concepts, one of which was refined as the finished logo.
The new identity works much better on web and mobile devices than the previous logo and uses their unique name (a partial acronym of their longer name) to better advantage. The contract was to redesign the logo only.
