Cartographies of Disappearance
One thing I like about book cover design is approaching topics that are far outside my wheelhouse. This is a case in point with Cartographies of Disappearance: Vestiges of Everyday Life in Literature, which analyzes texts, practices, and mythologies of everyday life within Spanish and Catalan culture.
The author provided a photo they had taken of a Spanish kitchen to incorporate. I juxtaposed this image with an aerial view of a Barcelona neighbourhood that shared colours with the pots in the kitchen and unified the two with a geometric compass.
